I’m Jennifer Tran, a data-driven learning experience designer with a background in global education, learning systems, and accessible workforce training.
As a child of a Deaf adult (CODA) and refugees from Vietnam, I grew up navigating the world through both spoken and unspoken language, always aware of how access to information could change someone’s life. That belief in education as opportunity has guided my entire career.
I began in K–12 and nonprofit education, leading inclusive training programs for underserved learners across nine countries. But over time, my passion for aviation, that once just a personal interest, evolved into a professional mission. I started asking: If we can move people and cargo across continents in hours, why aren’t we using that same global network to deliver humanitarian training, aid, and opportunity?
That question reframed everything. I realized that strong instructional systems in aviation, especially in safety, compliance, and ground operations, are critical not only for internal success but for the future of humanitarian logistics. Since then, I’ve aligned my academic research, design projects, and career path toward that goal.
Now, I specialize in designing learning systems that merge instructional design theory with UX, data mining, and emerging tech. I’ve built LMS simulations from scratch, created SCORM/xAPI-integrated modules, and developed training programs across EdTech startups, AI-powered platforms, and aviation learning teams. I use frameworks like ADDIE, UDL, Kirkpatrick, and Phillips ROI to design for real-world impact, especially in resource-limited or safety-critical contexts.
Currently, I’m pursuing my M.A. at Columbia University in Computing in Education, where I’m developing a thesis on data-informed aviation training using biometric feedback in low- and high-fidelity simulators to predict learning gaps before they become operational risks.
Long term, I aim to work at the intersection of aviation, AI, and humanitarian training to build systems that don’t just teach, but serve. My ultimate goal is to lead initiatives at organizations like ICAO or UNHAS to use aviation as a catalyst for global equity, safety, and access.

I specialize in evidence-based instructional design, learning analytics, and technology-enhanced training systems grounded in cognitive science, accessibility, and real-world impact.
I believe great training is not just engaging. It’s research-backed, measurable, and meaningful. That’s why I approach every project through the lens of learning science, systems thinking, and ethical innovation.
